Advanced Open Water

Explore Deeper with PADI Advanced  Certification

The next step in your diving journey is an advanced open water course. This course covers 5 diving specialties, including 3 shore dives and 2 boat dives within the marine reserve. The water temperature is 82.4°F with excellent visibility, and you can observe sea turtles, stingrays, spotted eagle rays, moray eels, giant lobsters, and many other species and colors that are unique to Cozumel.

Cozumel is considered one of the most convenient places in the world for studying, practicing, and advancing your diving skills.

On the first day of the course, you will go to the beach to prepare your equipment and learn the necessary skills for diving. You will perform three dives, including a navigation dive where you will learn how to navigate underwater with a compass and the environment, an advanced buoyancy and balance dive, and a night dive.

On the second day, you will head to the boat for the last two dives. Your guide will explain the diving sites and provide a depth briefing. During the first dive, you will descend to a depth of 100 feet (30 meters) and experience pressure and color changes. After a break on the boat with lunch, you will complete the second dive, which will cover a new fifth specialization such as a shipwreck, fish ID, or drift dive.

Upon completion of the course, you will be a certified PADI Advance Open Water Diver and can dive up to a depth of 100 feet (30 meters).
